What even is going on?

I have my good times, my "meh" times, and my bad times. This really should have been canceled in 2017 like I said, but I just don't wanna let go for whatever reason. Stuff gets to me. Life gets to me. I'm sure it does to everyone. I think I'm going to put M1AA down and hope I'll come back to it someday.
Why is M1AA so important that I don't want to 100% let go? Because thinking up of scenes and character interactions and all that for the story makes me happy. It makes me feel better in the not-so-good times. But I haven't been doing that lately and haven't got the motivation to. And I also don't want to do a shabby job of making a Mother 1 series, as I want a good quality story. I made a very short ep. 1 back in 2016 or so without thinking of a storyboard or plan of what will happen next:

What was my direction? Where will I go? What do I want Ninten's personality to be? How about Lloyd, Ana, and Teddy? What are things they'd totally do? What things will they absolutely not do? What's in-character and out-of-character? I need to plan this all out.

Okay M1AA, I'm gonna let you lie on the bed. Take a good rest...

2019 updates - Ninten reference updated

Hey'o everyone! It's been a while since my last post, huh? Sorry I don't have much progress on M1AA, but I have a life. And life is messy sometimes, y'know? Unexpected things happen and you just have to deal with it the best you can.
I've been drawing more Mother stuff lately, so my motive for M1AA is getting revived. I haven't practiced my voices for the Mother kids in a while (probably a little more than a year), so I need to practice that. Anyways, I wanted to create a reference for Lloyd, but I don't have an idea of what his pajamas would be. I instead took another look at my Ninten reference and decided to update his pajamas to be a bit more in-line with the style of 80s pajamas:

A bit better, I say. The bottom of the pants are ribbed cuffed (yes, that's what you call that design) and have a secondary color. The reason why I originally had a plain blue shirt because Ninten's sprite at the end of the game (where he takes a rest) is blue. Yeah, the sprite is just hatless, but I imagined a plain blue shirt. I also don't want Ninten to have the exact same pajamas as Ness because I want to differentiate the two. Ninten has short sleeves because— I again, imagined— the events of Mother 1 took place around the summer. Who wears long sleeves for summer nights? Here's the other designs I thought of before I settled on the last one:

Also Ninten doodles for practice drawing him in his pajamas. :P

I hope to eventually have more references of the main characters soon! (as well as other characters, such as Ninten's sisters, Pippi, and more)

Ninten character reference

Oh yeah, M1AA isn't dead.

Yessire, you better believe it! I'm working on M1AA again! As mentioned in a previous post, I'm kinda starting over and redoing episode 1 again in order to have some sort of path/story to follow before I animate each episode. With that being said, I have plans for a proper intro and making references for the main characters. This one is for Ninten.
(I'm gonna copy and paste this part from my DeviantART post because I don't know how to reword it in another way:) If you've been following my M1AA series, you'll know that Ninten's last name was Douglas and not Doe. Well, I've done some thinking and decided on Doe for the pun "Nintendo" (because Ninten Doe). I had a poll on the Earthbound Amino and more people voted for his last name to be Doe as well. So, I'm changing his last name to Doe. If you think about it, it's totally fine, as he's called Ninten because of the game manual— not enough room for "Nintendo," so "Ninten" was entered. I'm keeping his middle name, Kennathan, as a reference to the Japanese Mother 1 novel; his name was Ken in the novel, but I think "Ninten Kennathan Doe" sounds better than "Ninten Ken Doe."

I also redrew the M1AA logo, so it looks like this:
The original one I drew looked like this:

The new one is basically redrawn from the actual, original MOTHER logo, with "Animated Adventures" traced from the pixel font that the original MOTHER game used. It's not exact, but close.

Hopefully I can draw up a new background to this blog and have some animation progress on the intro. I actually started a new BG on Paint Tool SAI, but never finished it.

Remember: animation isn't easy, especially when you have a life!

The M1AA Hiatus

No one ever reads the blog, but here it is once more:
There is absolutely no progress on M1AA whatsoever.

You've heard me say it over and over again. I'm busy, blah blah blah... I do want M1AA to be a thing, though. It just won't be a thing now. Here are my plans:
  • make up a clear timeline of the M1AA plot
    • I've always had ideas and some little scenes in my head, but I haven't quite put them together. This will be majorly useful for future episodes
  • make some sort of plan with voice acting
    • Only I voice act the kids (and there's a friend of mine voicing Minnie and Mimmie, but we haven't talked in a while). I'm going to need some people for VA, but I can't hold voice auditions when I haven't working on M1AA at all lately
  • Possibly redo F.Ep. 1
    • Let's be honest; F.Ep. 1 could be better.

I don't want to give up on this project, but on the other hand, I have so much other things I do and should be doing (that includes procrastination, but that's not the point here) . Almost all other Mother 1/Earthbound Zero projects have been canceled and/or never heard from again after some progress on the projects. And that includes and 3 or so attempts at remaking M1/EB0. I want this project to at least have some decent progress.

When am I going to give up on this? Who knows.

(Do note that not only does M1AA have little to no activity, but most of my social media accounts do as well, such as Sudomemo and DeviantART.)

Occasional update

Letting you know (if anyone of my fans even check this anymore ;w;) that it's been rough seas for me.
Sorta getting back in the mood for M1AA recently, but not quite. I'm still oh-so busy.

F.Ep. 2? Don't mention it.

Not until late June or something.

(btw, I had an idea of additional soundtrack, like music (aside from the ones derived from the games) in the Pokemon Anime. Just an idea.)

Cancelation

If this project doesn't come back in the spring or summer, I might as well call it quits.

Sorry.

Hey, what happened to M1AA, Zoro?

Things have been sorta rough recently, with me having absolutely no motive to animate the second flipnote. D: So sorry! In the meantime, I've been practicing with voices and brainstorming how the movements will work out and such.
I STARTED F.Ep. 2. Sorry for all this waiting and "plz understand" and "just a little while" and stuff. Bear with me. I'm eager to see the finished thing, too! I just have to, well, animate it. .o.

But I'll give you this: F.Ep. 2 is on Flipnote 3D. I got a bit used to it while animating 2 MV shorts for school. More color! >:3
